If someone or something is described as “larger than life”, it means that they have characteristics which are impressive or outsized compared with normal human beings. This phrase is an English idiom and is often reserved for fictional characters with almost superhuman qualities. While this phrase is more often associated with fictional characters, it is the best way that I could describe Ron Jackson.
What a mighty testimony of faith, love, hope and joy!
I often commented that Ron Jackson was a modern day combination of Will Rogers and Andy Griffin. Our church was greatly blessed by his servant leadership, dynamic teaching and evangelistic heart. His impact on our fellowship is indescribable.
To honor his legacy, we are initiating the Ron Jackson Mission Scholarship Fund. This Fund will be an ongoing fund to help provide scholarships to those from our fellowship who are engaged in a mission trip. Any gift given to the Fund will receive a copy of Ron Jackson’s audio CD of some of his favorite hymns. The songs played at Ron’s Memorial Service came from this CD. Ron’s heart was for lost people to hear the gospel. We believe that the best way to honor his ministry and his memory is to help others catch this same heart beat!
