Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100:1-5

Pastor Bill reminded us that praising God is at the heart of worship. However, we can attend a worship service and not actually worship. We can sing a worship song and not truly worship. Understanding that praise is a way to worship God, we can look at 3 things:

1. Worship was designed by God
2. Worship was defined by God
3. Worship is all about God

Pastor Bill said, “If God is great in your heart, your worship will be great expressions of praise to Him.” Playing an instrument doesn’t mean it is worship, lifting your hands doesn’t mean it is worship, singing doesn’t mean it’s worship… however, when your heart is full of Him, worship will flow from your spirit. Let’s enter His courts with praise. Let’s worship Him in spirit and in truth. Not in the flesh, not in “style”, not in tradition, but in spirit and truth.

2. How can you cultivate a heart of worship?
3. Take some time this week to worship God for who He is!
