Men's Ministry Goals
1 Corinthians 16:13 — "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong."
To be Guardians {"Be watchful"}
• GUARD OUR HEARTS
As men, we must keep our hearts pure before the Father in order to be most effective for Him. The first elements of guarding our hearts are to place Christ first in all things, (Col. 1:18) to have full and complete commitment to Him, and for Him to be our standard for everything in our lives. We must guard our hearts from: Satan (1 Peter 5:8-9), Temptation (Mark 14:38), Apathy, and False teaching (2 Peter 2:1).
• GUARD OUR FAMILIES
Men are the “gate keepers” of the home and thus must protect their family both physically and spiritually.
• GUARD OUR FRIENDS
Men must learn to be accountable to friend and be willing to hold friends accountable.
To be Firmly Founded {"stand firm in the faith"}
• KNOW THE WORD OF GOD
We must have a firm foundation in the Word so that we are not taken “captive by philosophy and empty deceit” (Colossians 2:8), or “conformed to the world” (Romans 12:2), and to enable us to hold our ground in a world of opposition.
“If we do not hold fast to right interpretations of Scripture, we are certain to slip into wrong thinking, wrong belief, and wrong behavior.” - John MacArthur

We must abide in Christ (John 15:4-5) so that our strength comes through Him.
